Metropol Sweat: Takuya Nakamura

The Metropol Sweat club concert series presents a new curatorial concept brimming with dance energy and an innovative approach to music. On July 23, Bratislava’s Metropol will be transformed into the epicenter of the New York underground scene. The guest will be visionary trumpeter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Takuya Nakamura.

Takuya, a Tokyo native who has made a name for himself on the global—and especially the New York—avant-garde scene, is a musical chameleon. He is known worldwide for his collaborations with icons such as CocoRosie and Nervous Cabaret, but his solo sets are pure energy. In them, he seamlessly blends organic jazz with raw drum & bass, dub, ambient, and precise electronic sounds. His sets fuse his jazz roots with modern electronic production. His dedication to his craft and ability to transcend genres make him a true pioneer of contemporary music.

Unlike typical concert lineups, this format is specifically geared toward showcasing progressive electronic projects and leading international DJs. The main goal of the series is to bring innovative trends from the global club scene and provide an intense musical experience in close contact with the performers.
