Australian pianist and composer Sophie Hutchings’ love for the piano began in a quiet, secluded way. As a child, she would withdraw into her own world, with only the family piano for company. In silence, she developed her repetitive, dreamy style, which would later become her trademark. Initially, she was reluctant about her music and the idea of performing live in front of an audience. It wasn’t until the release of her debut album Becalmed that Sophie entered the public arena.
In 2025, she released her latest album, Become the Sky, featuring meditative, piano-driven pieces in which she explores themes such as change, travel and the intense feeling of coming home.
